Much like RWB, Rocket Bunny, and others of its kind, Liberty Walk is a Japanese modification shop with a unique flair. However, what sets Liberty Walk apart is its focus on supercars.
The History of Liberty Walk
Behind the success of Liberty Walk stands a significant figure, Wataru Kato, commonly known as Kato-san. He is the mastermind behind many supercars that now command attention on the streets.
Liberty Walk initially started as a modest modification shop in Japan back in 1993. When Kato-san founded it, he was just 26 years old, and the shop could accommodate only three cars at a time.
However, as time passed, Liberty Walk began to gain recognition for its unique body kit modifications. In 2008, LB Performance, a division of Liberty Walk, took on the task of modifying a friend of Kato-san's Lamborghini Murcielago.
This car was later showcased at the 2009 SEMA Show, marking LB Performance's debut. Despite receiving positive feedback from visitors, Liberty Walk struggled to turn a significant profit.
Breakthrough in 2012
In 2012, LB Performance made a breakthrough by introducing its signature overfender model. They sacrificed the original fenders of billion-dollar luxury cars, cut them, and replaced them with Liberty Walk's distinctive overfenders.
This move made Liberty Walk stand out even more in the world of modification. They were unafraid to step out of their comfort zone.
Eventually, Liberty Walk caught the eye of attendees at the SEMA Show and Tokyo Auto Salon in 2013. They showcased modified Nissan GT-Rs and Ferrari 458 Italys that embodied the LB Performance style.
This was the moment when Liberty Walk started gaining global recognition and attracting the attention of supercar owners.

Liberty Walk's Distinctive Modifying Style
Liberty Walk draws inspiration from classic Japanese modification styles, where various car components are combined, and overfenders are applied.
Kato-san attempted to apply this style to European supercars, and the results were impressive. These cars appeared more aggressive and captivating.
What truly sets Liberty Walk apart is Kato-san's vision. In the process of modification, he aims to make people happy and bring smiles to their faces, radiating positive energy.
In one interview, Kato-san even stated, "If I'm not happy, I can't make others happy." This vision adds an emotional dimension to their car modifications.

Their success not only brings joy to car owners but also leaves others in awe of their creations.
Liberty Walk is a prime example of how a modification shop can grow into a global phenomenon with a unique style and a strong vision.
In the world of car modification, the name Liberty Walk will continue to shine and inspire many to turn their cars into remarkable works of art.(*)
